Niger Govt Arrests Armed Robbery Suspect Involved In Killing Of 19-year-old In Gurara

Niger State Police Command has arrested a member of a seven-man armed robbery gang who stormed Boyi Community in Gurara Local Government, killing 19 years old Ibrahim Ayuba.

The gang also robbed residents of the area of their valuables including one Prophet Samuel Omojuni Kandi, 45, of his Samsung and Tecno A7 handsets valued at N61,000, ATM card and a sum of N34,000 cash.

The command through the state Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Wasiu Abiodun made this known in Minna.

” On receipt of the information on the 2nd of May, 2020, Police Detectives attached to Gawu-Babangida Division swung into action and arrested one of the robbers.”

According to him, the suspect named; Habibu Suleiman, 23 years old of Dawaki town hall area Suleja confessed to the crime and mentioned other six of his accomplices at large from Tafa and Kubwa FCT Abuja area.

” Effort is still on top gear to arrest other fleeing suspects,” Abiodun said.

Similarly, Abiodun said another two-man gang of armed robbers were arrested for beating and robbing, one Bashir Ibrahim of Mariri village in Rijau Local government of his motorcycle and a Techno handset.

The suspects are Lawali Shehu aged 22yrs and Lawali Sani aged 23yrs both males of Fulani camp, Tashan Dorowa Zamfarawa village in Rijau LGA.

The PRO revealed that during investigations, the said motorcycle and the Tecno phone was recovered from the suspects, adding that the suspects have confessed to the crime and will soon be charged to court.
